Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Asia Culture Center

HISTORY

The ACC was built under the Asian Cultural Hub City Development Plan finalized in 2007. Gwangju, a city famous for the May 18 Democratic Uprising, was named the host city for the new center, which was built for six years between 2008 and 2014.

    NovemberOpened as the Asia Culture Center (November 25)

    JulyThe ACC officially established as a subsidiary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (July 20) and designated as an executive agency

    MarchSpecial Act on the Development of Asian Cultural Hub City amended (establishment of the Asia Culture Center and the Asia Culture Institute)
