Gwangju Metropolitan Opera’s 15th Regular Performance, Family Opera “Cinderella,” is produced in concert version to fully enjoy the charm and musical beauty of opera. Uniquely, it is suitable for ages 4 and up. The 95-minute performance features a condensed version of the original, with commentary by director Lee Kyung-jae included at the beginning, making it enjoyable for everyone.

The name “Camerata” signifies an ensemble of artists, while “Jeonnam” refers to the Jeonnam area. Gwangju Metropolitan Opera
A Truly Gwangju Opera, Showcasing Gwangju’s Cultural Arts to the World
The Gwangju Metropolitan Opera was established in 2017 with the aim of enhancing the status of Gwangju Metropolitan City, the cultural hub of Asia, and satisfying the cultural and artistic desires of Gwangju citizens. The Gwangju Metropolitan Opera creates pathways for cultural and artistic growth, allowing Gwangju citizens to become key players in the arts and fostering the development of talented musicians, artists, and performance professionals.
By expanding the scope of cultural arts in the Gwangju region to include a wide range of opera genres, the Gwangju Metropolitan Opera produces operas with international competitiveness and builds a repertoire that broadens the base of Korean opera. In addition, through various public service projects such as “Cultural Sympathies Across the Nation,” “Performance-Linked Educational Programs,” “Visiting Art Troupes,” and “Vocal Master Classes,” the Gwangju Metropolitan Opera continually spreads the art of opera throughout Gwangju and beyond.
Going forward, the Gwangju Metropolitan Opera will continue to create “Gwangju-style” opera in collaboration with citizens, aiming to promote the excellence of Gwangju’s cultural arts to the world.
