Today we want something new and different from yesterday, always fascinated by novelty.
Likewise, the arts of the era also want “new art and new artists.”

The traditional art field, however, is relatively difficult to produce new artists due to its characteristics as a product of accumulated culture over a long time. In order to meet the demands of the era, environmental support for aspiring artists is necessary, such as education and systems. Therefore, the Department of Korean Traditional Music in the College of Arts at Chonnam National University opened a curriculum for “Planning, Production and Performance” to find and support rising artists.

“Newbie” is a neologism that means a new person emerging in a certain field.
The “Stage” of Newbie Stage has more meaning than a performance hall with audience seats and a stage. It also means the space where newbies create their projects.

“Newbie Stage” is a space where new artists in the field of traditional art bring their imagination of art to life and where they can express their art freely.
