[Relaxed Performance]
Can children with developmental disorders enjoy a performance?
Sure thing! The media performance “Let’s Become a Song” integrates children’s different and unique reactions into the performance.
So, there’s no need to worry about whether our children will interfere with the show.

The performance allows you to enter and exit as you wish and does not crack down on noise. If you need to take a break, you can step out to the Lobby or even outside the performance venue before returning.
You can also enjoy the performance comfortably with a toy or a plush doll in hand!
* What is a relaxed performance?
Relaxed performances are accessible forms of performance that allow everyone to enjoy a show in a more comfortable space, even those on the autistic spectrum or with intellectual disabilities. These performances realize this goal by optimizing the theater and performance environment, so challenging behaviors, special noises, or reactions from sensory elements do not pose a problem to the general experience of the performance for children, teenagers, and adults with developmental disorders.
Media Art Performance
A media art performance?
“Let’s Become a Song” is a performance set against a media artwork that changes according to the story, utilizing the actors’ movements and images to complete the narrative.
Follow the journey of “Malchongi the Horsetail,” and stand under the starlit sky in the middle of a grassland.

The performance is preceded by a storytelling media exhibition that tells the story of “Let’s Become a Song” through its actors’ voices.
You can enter the venue an hour before the performance time.

If you are curious about the story or need time to adjust to the venue, come early, and enjoy some free time in the performance venue.
* Storytelling media exhibition (15 min) repeated screening

A warm trip through the grasslands with “Malchongi the Horsetail”
Are you scared because you’re alone?
There’s nothing to fear.
You have the wind,
You have stones,
You have camels,
And you have sheep.
Everyone’s with you here.

The wind helps you dream far.
The stones help you keep smiling.
The camels make you dance.
The sheep will take you home.

Everyone’s a friend here.
Are you scared because you’re alone?
There’s nothing to fear.
You have your mom,
You have your dad,
And you have your older brother.

And you have me, Malchongi.

Whenever you feel alone,
I’ll always sing to you.
Story
An expansive grassland stretches under a clear sky, and a horse sleeps. A wolf’s cry pierces the silence, making the horse run away. A horse’s tail, Malchongi, is left behind.

In this massive grassland with nothing in sight, Malchongi sets off to find its place. It sways in the wind, meets a camel, falls into water, and then runs into a herd of sheep. A shepherd dog picks it up and brings it to a nomad family, where Malchongi meets a crying baby.

Malchongi sings a lullaby to help the baby sleep. As they become friends, Malchongi falls asleep with the baby.

Group Introduction
“Very Special Art Village” was established in 2012 to create an environment for art and culture that does not distinguish between those with or without disabilities. The group develops and offers relaxed performances, which can be enjoyed by all children, including those with developmental disorders, and art education programs with participants requiring individual support.

Since its founding, the group has developed and presented relaxed performances for children with developmental disorders, such as “Let’s Become a Song,” “Slow and Crawling Turtle,” “A Happy Wolf,” “Story of a Small Crab,” “Old Turtle,” and “Hansel and Gretel,” to great acclaim among children with developmental disorders and their families.
The group also supervises “Very Special Art Academy,” an integrated art education program for participants with or without disabilities. Another focus area for the group is the training of art and cultural educators for learners with disabilities.
