The graduation exhibition of art students in college, promising talents in the field of culture and arts, will be held at the ACC Archive & Research’s Bamboo Garden from October to December.
It begins with the exhibition of paintings by students majoring in Western Painting at Chonnam National University’s Department of Fine Arts (Oct. 4–13), followed by a relay of other exhibitions: Honam University’s Department of Comics and Animation (Oct. 18–27), Department of Industrial Design (Nov. 1–10), Sunchon National University’s Department of Visual Design (Nov. 22 – Dec. 1), and Gwangju University’s Department of Photography, Image & Dronen (Dec. 6–15).
The theme of this exhibition, in which 105 students from 5 departments are participating, is “Rainbow Sprout,” signifying “sprouts shining with vibrant colors.” A showcase of the solid progress and skills honed in their respective fields, this exhibition represents the students’ budding potential and their capacity for growth and development.

What we talk about When we talk about “a step”

As we embark on our journey as young artists, we have honed our individual artistic explorations. Through this exhibition, we aim to create a space for “communication” between artists and the audience, a key element in contemporary art, while “sharing” our unique artistic experiences. By sharing the stories behind each of our first steps, we come to realize that, even though we come from different backgrounds, our belief in art is the same. This shared belief will be expressed through the works of 11 students.

Go forward
Oct. 18–27, 2024 (FRI–SUN)
The exhibition theme “Go Forward” poses the question: “In this place that resembles the deep sea, you can see a ray of light far above the surface. How will you reach that light?” To reach the “light” symbolizing our dreams, we guide and support each other, fully enjoying ourselves within that light. This is what we aim to showcase through the exhibition. The graduation works feature different media, including Insta-toons, webtoons, 2D and 3D animations, and published comics, as well as various accompanying merchandise.

“Be accomplish” is not just a graduation exhibition but also a significant moment as we take our first steps into society. By sharing each other’s works, we have grown together and now stand at the first gateway to our dreams of becoming designers. In this exhibition, we present works that reflect on societal challenges such as environmental issues, demonstrating how design can address these concerns. We aim to showcase a platform where ideas and art interact in a complementary manner.

Video is a comprehensive art form that integrates various artistic elements. As such, the creation of a single video involves the interaction and collaboration of many people in diverse environments. Through this process, we have each become stars with our own unique colors. “Assemble” compares 3D, video, web, and animation works to shining stars, aiming to introduce the collective concept of “us.”

Atmosphere: The Moment of Ascension (飛上)
Dec. 6–15, 2024 (FRI–SUN)
The exhibition theme “Atmosphere: The Moment of Ascension (飛上)” is explained through the dual meanings of the word “atmosphere”—both as the “air surrounding the Earth (大氣)” and as “mood.” Each student brings a unique atmosphere to their work, whether in photography or video across genres such as advertising, art, or documentary, imagining the moment of launching from Earth into space. Through this final gateway, the graduation exhibition, audiences can glimpse the processes of challenge, overcoming obstacles, change, and growth.
