Introduction
Asia Culture Center X Let’s Play
“Samyang Fairy Tales”
An exciting composition that fascinates children’s attention, a storyline that even 5-year-olds can follow,
and the short yet impactful songs of Samyang Fairy Tales!
  - Audience Review
“Samyang Fairy Tales” is a lively musical that retells classic fairy tales from a contemporary perspective.
These stories, originally written around 500 years ago when understanding of children was limited,
often include cruel, discriminatory, or stereotypical elements.
While removing these biased perspectives,
Samyang Fairy Tales expands children’s scope of thinking by offering a fresh take on the classics and communicating with them.
Samyang Fairy Tales is also a participatory musical where audiences can sing along with the theme song, move their bodies, and participate in various activities.

Hansel and the Stepmother
Hansel and the stepmother realize the importance of nature as they grow closer through their adventures!
By comparing the story to the original, children can broaden their thinking and find new perspectives!
After putting the children to bed, the stepmother sheds tears because Gretel’s teeth are so damaged that she is in danger of dying. Determined to save her, the stepmother decides to go to the witch in the forest to get the salt toothpaste. Despite the father’s warnings about the scary forest witch, the stepmother bravely heads to the Black Belt Forest for Gretel’s sake.

Hansel secretly follows the stepmother to help her. Together, they face various challenges. They are nearly defeated by a tickling attack from the Tickle Tree, but Hansel counters with a “Do It Again” attack and receives a magic wand that can take him anywhere as a reward.

With the magic wand’s help, they quickly reach the witch’s house, which is entirely made of cookie trash. The stepmother attacks the witch with bad breath, and Hansel pushes the staggering witch into the Gurgling Well.

The Queen Who Broke the Mirror
The story is about a queen who discovers her own beauty without being swayed by others’ opinions.
Through engaging stories and songs, children can also learn first aid.♬
The musical encourages fruitful discussions and idea-sharing among the young audience.
The girl who loved being told she was pretty grows up to become a queen.
One day, the queen asks the mirror of truth, “Who is the prettiest in the world? The mirror replies, “Snow White is prettier than you,” prompting the queen to order a hunter to kill Snow White.

However, the kind-hearted hunter lets her go, and Snow White escapes into the woods, where she lives with the dwarfs. Determined to get rid of Snow White, the queen disguises herself multiple times to kill her. Snow White falls for the queen’s various disguises, such as a ribbon seller and a comb seller, but survives each time with the help of dwarfs.

Eventually, she collapses after eating a poisoned apple given by the queen disguised as an old woman. A prince from a neighboring country hears the dwarfs’ cries and realizes that Snow White is not dead.
